Security and privacy are inherently linked, yet decisions about each are often made in silos. It can be a challenge for teams of all sizes, with varied specialities, to connect the two domains.

With that in mind, we’re pleased to announce our first live panel event: How do you bridge the gap between data security and privacy?

As part of our partnership with Trace, this discussion invites professionals from the tech, privacy, security, and engineering communities to share their success stories and challenges. Chaired by Trace’s Sorcha Lorimer, the panelists will discuss how each specialty views their individual domains, what gaps exist between domains, where both industries are headed, which practical solutions work best, and more.

Panelists

Gary Myers is the Head of Information Security and Compliance at Peak, the scaling decision intelligence company. Gary is an experienced Security Professional and Solutions Architect with a demonstrated history of working in the telecommunications industry. Skilled in strategy, architecture, engineering, and operations. End-to-end customer solutions including on-premises and Cloud/Hybrid deployments, ISO 27001, NIST CSF, Networking, Windows/Linux Server, Enterprise applications, Information/Cyber Security.

Guillaume Montard is the Co-founder and CEO at Bearer, former VP of Engineering at SkillSoft, and former founder and CTO of Vodeclic. Guillaume has over 15 years of experience building enterprise SaaS products and leading their underlying product engineering teams in Europe and the US.

Richard Grey is the Director of Information Security at Edinburgh-based FinTech FreeAgent. Richard has over 25 years experience in the software industry across a number of roles and sectors, specializing in information security and SaaS cybersecurity knowledge. Prior to FreeAgent, Richard was CISO/CTO at Curo Compensation. 

Sorcha Lorimer is the Founder of Trace, a privacy consultancy and solutions business based in Edinburgh. Sorcha is a qualified privacy and digital risk professional with over a decade of in digital and data leadership, including a Fortune 500 company where she was Global Head of Digital, and Client Services’ Director in a leading Digital agency. She has worked on global IT, governance, data risk and digital transformation programs across multiple industries.
